Newly Appointed Trustee for Position #6 - Administrator (Superintendent)

Please join me in congratulating Shawn Higginbotham, Superintendent of the Lake Hamilton School District, on being appointed to the ATRS Board of Trustees. At yesterday's special board meeting, Mr. Higginbotham was unanimously appointed to serve out the term for position #6 that ends June 30, 2021.

Mr. Higginbotham will bring perspective and years of experience as a school district superintendent to the Board of Trustees. I look forward to working with him in the future.

Statewide Meetings on Arkansas Retirement Systems

The first two statewide meetings were held last week at Hope and Hot Springs. The turnout was great! About 250 people showed up for the Hope meeting. The Hot Springs meeting had an attendance of around 350. Thanks to all the Teacher Retirement System members that were able to attend those meetings.

One update to the schedule of meetings was announced. The last meeting scheduled for November 6th will start at 5 p.m. This should allow more members to have the opportunity to attend a meeting in person.
