UPDATE - Statewide Meetings on Arkansas Retirement Systems - Benton, AR
The Joint Committee on Public Retirement & Social Security Programs (JRC) just concluded the 10th statewide meeting to discuss the current status of all the Arkansas retirement systems. It is estimated that nearly 2,000 people have attended at least one of the meetings so far. Thanks to all the Teacher Retirement System members that were able to attend those meetings.
There is one more JRC statewide meeting left! It will be held on Tuesday, November 5th at 5 p.m. in the Benton Event Center in Benton, Arkansas. Please note that the date, location, and time has changed from prior meeting schedules. This venue should be large enough for all those interested in attending to hear the presentations by the leaders of the retirement systems.
I will be at the Benton Event Center around 4 p.m., before the meeting starts, and will stay around after the meeting to maximize opportunities to meet and visit with ATRS members. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with members at these meetings.

It is important that if you are planning to retire this fiscal year that you attend one of the workshop meetings nearest to you sometime this year.
